Austin sports radio is saying it's still very much up in the air.

Watson did interview for the HC job at Louisville (obviously, not going to get it).

Strong does still plan to run a spread offense similar to what Watson employed. But at this point, it's not known if Shawn would like to look at other opportunities (head coaching?) or join the UT staff (or if Strong definitely wants him). Charlie did bring along most of his defensive assistants to Austin -- as well as his strength and conditioning coach (who he thinks is his most valuable assistant). But a holding pattern in place concerning the offensive side of the ball.

The radio guys here were discussing Watson -- and of course brought up his time at Nebraska -- and then said "Nebraska's offenses were horrible with Watson." And they laughed.

Hey, the Huskers were mentioned on the radio so that makes them relevant, right?

If Beck ends up going to Florida, we should grab Watson before someone else does.

Considering Watson saved Pelinis first season from too much embarrassment by out scoring opponents maybe we should but then again, Osborne and Pelini would probably handcuff him with their version of an offense like they did last time. My guess is he will probably do just fine else where.

Red McCombs told the San Antonio Express-News that he had phoned Strong to apologize and promised Strong his "total support." Strong told him that an apology was unnecessary, he said.
"He wanted my help and my support. I told him I'd be happy to do it," McCombs said.
