Recruit
If i’m a college D-Line coach, i want to be recruiting to a 4-3 scheme, not a 3-4. A 3 man front is all about projection. “Can this kid carry 330+ pounds and still move?”
With a 4 man front, if you have a DE who isn’t panning out, you throw 30 pounds on him and move him inside. If you have a linebacker who isnt panning out, you throw 30 pounds on him and move him down to DE.
Especially in our 500 mile radius, where most big guys wrestle and stay around 280... There’s HS lineman in SEC country coming into college weighing 350+ pounds, but the pickings are a little slimmer up here.
