Final Game Thoughts.
I hate to say it, but if Tanner Lee was half as good as Tommy Armstrong was in the second half of that game, we would have won big today.
To be blunt, Tanner Lee had an off day. His throws were sailing on him all day. But as the game progressed, his timing got worse and worse. When Tre Bryant left the game with a leg injury, the Huskers were suddenly punchless on offense. Hopefully Lee can shake off this performance and learn from it. His four interceptions were killers although to be fair, the first one was a bad drop by Morgan (ball was extremely well thrown) and the last one was caused by a player clipping his arm as he threw.
The refs are trying to help us out.
I thought of that also. Unfortunately, we will never know...............as far as this game, anyway. My thought on that? I would not have minded, since we were on the road.Ok let's discuss this now. If we score again, do we go for two?
Yup! Forced the ball, once again. In retrospect, I was hoping they run the ball on 1st down, figuring Oregon would expect us to try to get a huge amount of yards on the first play. Oh well!was a bad decision to throw it anyway... all covered
As long as I had time to pray (and I did!), I did not give up, because I did not want to accept the thought, we were going to be crushed. Was just wishing for 1 td at a time, holding them. Almost, guys! Almost! Was thinking the same, many of us gave up, including me, but they never did, and even with 4 TOs made it a game in Eugene
Yeah, that was awesome!! Now, if we can hold a team scoreless on both sides of the halves, hey, we're in, baby!!Never would have imagined that they could hold Oregon scoreless in the 2nd half. There is certainly potential and both the O and D should improve throughout the season.
Very true and we did come back. Tanner will improve I actually think a game like this may help him in the long run... there were some receivers that could've made some plays and I think Bryant leaving really hurt. Our young team will learn from this...As long as I had time to pray (and I did!), I did not give up, because I did not want to accept the thought, we were going to be crushed. Not me sorry. Even DeMorny was coming off the field patting himself...my bad. We needed his magic there, right side was open. He has been a fair catch specialist lately. Not sure if coaching staff has taken away his green light
I won't go that far but he does seem to have issues if he feels even a little pressure.
Just stop....or I will lock you out....
Oh, yeah, for sure!I think play calling at the end would have been different if Bryant was still out there.
