Just goes to show that with the right coaching staff, a winning program, and being yourself (passion for football and caring, down-to-earth people) we can still recruit with the best of them!

thank god that texas loss didnt matter.

With how big of a decision it is to decide on a college, would you really want a kid who would decide 4-5 years of his future on ONE game? Those kinds of kids generally dont have a long-term game plan for their futures unfortunately. They think they will play in the NFL and dont take the educational part of the scholarship into account, which ultimately helps kids the most.

I agree. There are so many other things a player would be interested in than just a win or a loss on a particular Saturday. The player if he is smart would be looking at many different things such as facilities, relationships developed during the visit with players and coaches, how the coaches see the player fitting into the defensive and offensive schemes, etc... In the case of Green having his brother on campus and his BBQ at the Penland's house were huge.

So far? Go look at the class we have assembled....its about more than one loss to a team like Texas...look at the class we brought in last year and we lost 4 games....kids sense and understand what is going on at Nebraska and want to be part of it....they see long term not short term like many fans do....they look at the atmopshere, tradition, game day expereince, school, coaching staff etc and we bring all of that in spades.....

So not its no so far...and thats a fact....recruiting isn't a knee jerk reaction decided on ne tough loss and if it is then we don't want a kid like that any way....

So once again, go look at the class we have assembled thus far.....pretty darn nice huh....

It is clear that Bo & Co. have the "it" factor when it comes to recruiting. He picks his targets and goes after them reguardless of stars or other people's opinions. Not only do kids trust and believe him, but also the parents.

I agree...so far

RR, I agree that Nebraska has a great class going again, but as far a a "great class" goes so do a few others on Green's list and yes Nebraska brings all those things that you mentioned but so do most of those schools on the list.

I do not believe the Texas game had anything to do with his decision...I think the fact that Texas is full at the RB position does;, and I worry that if Texas come a callin' Green may switch...I hope Texas does not come a callingsometime in the next 15 weeks or so.

I agree that those recruit who deside as you described we do not want, but I do think one game CAN make a difference for a recruit that has taken everything else into account. If a recruit in HIS mind believe that 2 schools are equal in tradition, stass, acedemic, atmosphere etc etc then which he might not say I choose school A because they won. He might think well based on the win school A is closer to turning the corner and playing for championship so I will choose school A. So sometimes one game can make a difference. It is their carater that determines what factor one game plays in their decision process.

Yes, so far. I like the class but it is still a long time till Feb.. It's not like NU has ever lost a 'top' recruit at the last minute.. Have They? Just sayin

I just love the fact that a kid chose NE over the other schools listed for Green. No offense to any of our other players or recruits, but when we are beating out TX, Bama, ND, OK, Florida St., etc. for a kid that makes me feel better than the recruits that we get that have offers from Marshall, Ohio, etc. I know we are looking for certain kids, but when we beat out top 5 schools for kids, just makes me feel better about our ability to compete with said schools moving forward.
