Maybe. It will be interesting battle to watch next year. He has excellent vision and play recognition for a true freshman, but he has to learn our defense if he wants to be our Mike LB. He won't come in and battle Young or Newby or Barry for the outside spots which he will learn also. So easy answer is probably 60% day 1 starter.

Who else would we have slated to play the Mike? Maybe Weber? He has looked decent in his brief appearances. If we're being honest though, outside of Newby, none of our returning LBs were very impressive this season. Did Barry even play outside of STs?
It seems like I remember hearing a lot of positive things about Tyrin Ferguson at Mike during fall camp. He red-shirted this year, but he could be a contender for the starting spot there.
