Thompson is the caliber and experience level we hoped to get out of the transfer portal. If you offered a choice of 5th year AM or Thompson and Purdy (for sake of argument, assume he's coming too) added to the QB room, I prefer the new blood.

This team needs to break out of the cycle of near-miss performances. Adding new voices on the coaching staff, new energy and intensity, and adding a little talent and swagger at the skills positions feels like the best way to give it a chance at something different.

Can we just write the script now where Nebraska has a nice turn-around season that culminates with a New Year's Bowl game vs Texas? How fun would that be?
