Rest In Peace Joyce Durand - The Sidetrack Band


I think the last time I saw her was maybe 3 years ago and she had just celebrated a birthday. I want to say she was 85+ then? Miss the old, stinky, sticky, vile Sidetrack bar. Pine Sol soaked bathrooms—-to kill the puke from students the night before. :)
 
For anyone who never experienced it, this video captures some of the experience.
Joyce herself is interviewed halfway through. When asked to describe The Sidetrack, Joyce says:
"Rowdy behavior. You're going to be hot, sweaty and happy".
That pretty well sums it up.

Didn’t her daughter work the old bar every Sat? Kind of a big gal who hauled about 3 pitchers per hand?
 







Man, 2020 just keeps chipping away at my youth! Had a lot of great chats with Joyce over the years...always walked away a little happier. She will be missed! :Frown:
