Ok, so how many more wins do we get this season?

How many more wins?

Not suggesting we'll beat Wiscy, but they are nothing special this year. Their defense is salty as usual but their offense is a hot mess. Mertz has proven to be grossly overrated and their o-line is not up to their usual standards.
Agreed. This is not a vintage Wisconsin offense. We won't score much or at all on them though, and presumably our Special Teams will spot them about 10 points. So probably something like a 27-10 loss against a team we are capable of beating.

We lost our last two games under Riley by a combined 54 points.

You have to add up the point differentials in our last 7 losses (dating back to last season) to find that same total delta.

I'm so sick of losing, but we're obviously getting closer. First you lose big, then you lose small, then you win small, then you win big.

We've had one winning season since Pelini got fired, and we just went toe to toe with two top 20 teams. Our record is what it is, but we're not a terrible team.
There is the problem with the Frost era.

In all four of his years, we have not had "terrible teams", in fact there has been talent enough to have winning records save for ST teams play in 2019 and 2021 so far.

But talent alone clearly does not win games, you have to have a coaching staff that develops players and puts them in positions to use their individual talent to the best of their ability.

On defense this has happened with increasing regularity over the last three years.

It is conspicuously absent on offense, ST and game management.

Conclusion: much as we all thought Scott was a winning HC, he is not and should be replaced, even in midseason to salvage a winning season and bowl game for the kids and the program.

Why? Because it is NOT a "terrible team" and deserves better.

Fairly good chance zero or one win. 2W-10L or 3W-9L. Oh well, next year

My predictions, Illinois 1W-11L, MSU ..... 5W-7L.

Our 1st 8 losses under Riley were by 37 combined. And 10 of Riley’s 19 losses were by 1 score. For Frost 15 of his 23 losses have been by 1 score. So what? Parse it however you want, both guys have proven they lose close games at NU.

The measure of a good coach in year 4 can’t be “we lose a lot of close games”. Our benchmark for success can’t be Riley’s last two games.

The only way Huskers win more than one more game is if Frost is let go and Chins takes over. He is outmanned (outplanned) by the head coach in every game left. Frost has no red zone offensive scheme. Can't win close games without one.

Interesting analysis.

Nobody said that was a benchmark for success.

I think you're right. Firing head coaches has really worked out well for us this century.

Emotionally driven results so far. The real O/u is 4 or at least 3+, not <2, even with the attrocious errors.
