Neutral Site games in Las Vegas

Vegas will host the Super Bowl, the College National Championship Game, an early season college match up and a yearly college bowl game as soon as the stadium is built. Teams may have to increase their security budget by 500% when their teams play there.
Security for Philly will always be tougher.

You could easily head over to Grand Canyon, Death Valley, or numerous other places that have the opposite vibe of the Vegas Strip.
Vegas to me is a dirty, sinful, filthy, disgusting, tourist ridden town. However, I'm excited about the Knights and now the Raiders playing in SinCity and if by chance the Huskers ever play there, I'd be down for that myself.
People get out of LV what they want. It does not have to be just a tourist pit as there is so much to see and do in the entire area. I go there for work a few times a year and I am not big into gambling but that does not stop me from having a good time there. If someone does not like the casino's or strip there are plenty of nice places to stay and things to do outside of that realm. If you can't find something cool or nice about LV then you are just being lazy and a complainer.
Good discussion. This past weekend my wife and I flew out to Vegas for our 20th anniversary. It was somewhat spontaneous as we booked everything only a couple weeks ago. We flew in on a Thursday night and flew out Monday morning. The flight and 4 room nights came out to around $490 total for both of us. It was my wife's first time to Vegas and my third (both previous times as a poor college student). My last time there was in 1995. I don't know how to describe how much Vegas has changed since I was last there.

While in Vegas we drove 650 miles and walked 27 miles. On Friday morning we drove down to Hoover dam and then on to Eagle Point at the West end of the Grand Canyon. While driving up to the Grand Canyon we stumbled on Arizona's Joshua Tree Forest, which was simply fantastically beautiful after an overnight snowfall. On Saturday we drove the loop through Death Valley. On Sunday we walked the strip. The Raider's new stadium is framed with steel beams but looks tiny compared to the casinos. I was amazed at how clean Vegas was this time.

Gone were the big flashy billboards advertising T$A and all the trashy flyers that stacked up along the sidewalks. In '95 you could swing a dead skunk and hit 15 scantily clad waitresses with their boobs pressed out over their tops and their skirts so short you could see their skivvies. Not now. In the 10 or so casinos we walked through I don't think we even saw 15 waitresses and the ones we did see weren't provocatively dressed. If we wanted to order a drink from a waitress we would have walked past 2 or 3 bars before we found one to flag down.

IIRC, in '95 the strip seemed to be the center of Vegas and the casinos were extensions of the strip. Now the strip is almost "walled" off from the casinos. With the exception of walkways connecting casinos and a few open areas along the strip most foot traffic is directed into the casinos. The strip seemed to have more of a Disney Springs, Orlando feel to it then a sin city buzz.

Sunday night we caught a Cirque du Soleil show that was ok. While parking I asked my wife what she thought of Vegas and if she would want to come back. She shrugged her shoulders and said she was happy to have crossed 4 things off the bucket list. If we do ever go back it will be to see the Chiefs play and we would stay at the Venetian. Anyway, just some random thoughts about Vegas.

Vegas changes a lot in 5 years...seeing it for the first time in over 20 years would be like seeing it practically for the first time.

As for waitresses, sit down and start gambling, they will be there quick to enhance your feeling of luck.

That is the truth. I was amazed at the size of the casino's now. They are little self-contained cities. We read that Caesar's Palace has 3,000 rooms. Toilet paper must be delivered daily by the pallet.

Sounds like my kind of city and a good place to live. Now that I'm retired...hmm.

Let me know if you want to move out there, my brother is a real estate agent in Vegas and does a pretty good job, plus he needs money so he can come back and go to a couple of Husker games with me. ;)
