Neutral Site games in Las Vegas

Not necessarily saying Nebraska......but talk about a huge opportunity for Las Vegas once that Raiders stadium is open. We were out there one time when Wisconsin was playing UNLV and their were Wisconsin fans everywhere. I actually think the Raiders will pack the stadium every week and it won't necessarily be local people. I think it will be a hot ticket.

As for college...…..holding some games at a neutral site for teams that typically don't even pack their own stadium might be appealing. There could probably be some handsome guaranteed payments.

I'd go if Nebraska played a neutral site game there, especially if those Southwest tickets are as low as $50 as they tend to be sometimes.

I'd consider going to a game, then head out of town a ways for outdoors entertainment. We went to the Vegas NASCAR race one year; but, with 11 year old kids, we got out of town as quickly as possible on Monday after the race. Spent the week in St. George Utah and visited ZIon Nat'l Park, did some guided canyoneering, and hiked.

You could easily head over to Grand Canyon, Death Valley, or numerous other places that have the opposite vibe of the Vegas Strip.

Living in the Boise Idaho area they discuss this stuff quite a bit on local sports talk radio.

I am pretty sure that is the plan when the stadium is built. I know they are hoping to upgrade the Payout for the Las Vegas Bowl and attract a better level of competition for it.

Saying the Raiders will pack the stadium 8x a year is a no brainer. It will be the away game destination that people want to go to. Vegas will love the fact that games are on Sunday. Instead of everyone going home on Sunday after a weekend on the strip the majority of people will stay over one more night till Monday.

As far as going to Vegas, to each his own. I enjoy it and would go a couple weekends a year if I could get away with it. It is a good Friday to Sunday mini vacation. Any longer is too long. Drink a little, eat some good food, go to a show, gamble a little, and my favorite thing people watch.

I do understand if it is not your thing though. My 2 oldest siblings wouldn't be caught dead in Vegas. They are not prudes, it is just not their thing.

My brother lives in Vegas, sells real estate and loves it, I went 3 weeks ago to go to a Penguins/Golden Knights hockey game. Enjoyed the game but couldn't wait to get back to Nebraska.

Isn't UNLV going to play their games there too, or did I miss understand something?

I've never been to Vegas because I have no interest in gambling. But I'd definitely make a road trip there for a Husker game and check out some decent live music if available.

Vegas to me is a dirty, sinful, filthy, disgusting, tourist ridden town. However, I'm excited about the Knights and now the Raiders playing in SinCity and if by chance the Huskers ever play there, I'd be down for that myself. They Played in Fresno a few years back, but I just couldn't make it to that craptastic city for the game.

People get out of LV what they want. It does not have to be just a tourist pit as there is so much to see and do in the entire area. I go there for work a few times a year and I am not big into gambling but that does not stop me from having a good time there. If someone does not like the casino's or strip there are plenty of nice places to stay and things to do outside of that realm. If you can't find something cool or nice about LV then you are just being lazy and a complainer.

I will be planning my work trips around the Raiders home schedule now. Just win baby.

As opposed to LA, San Fran, Seattle, Portland, DC, Baltimore, Miami, or any other large city in the United States. All the adjectives you mention are alive and well in any city in America.

Hilarious. Of the 3 quotes, only REDo showed any sense of humor. Of course I even called Vegas by it's nickname, Sin City and also said I'd go watch the Knights, the Raiders and a Huskers game if they somehow played there. LV doesn't compare to any of the other cities mentioned for several of what should be obvious reasons. HAHAHA, two out of 3 of you took my post personally, I think that that is cute.
