Saban is a master manipulator, that is all. I would say he has had the most success, but it is not because he can coach, its because he spends hours figuring out how to get around the rules. He is a total disgrace to college football.
That is your opinion, not mine. It's all about results....and therefore he's good at his job.

Good post. Contrary to the jealousy abounding on this board, Saban is a football genius and a master motivator. It is ridiculous to postulate otherwise. It's all about results....and therefore he's good at his job.

Ya, he’s such a genius that he needs teams of analysts and consultants to tell him what to do. I wonder how many consultants Frost had at UCF when he went undefeated?
Eventually you might see a difference. Then again, probably not.
Well, he's smart enough to realize he needs analysts and consultants, and he's smart enough to take all that and turn it into championships. ....and once again, championships are the desired goal, right?
Reaching the goal does not make one a genius; in this case it means he had more resources than everyone else.
It’s like a team using wooden bats versus a team with aluminum bats. Who has the better hitters? It could very well be the team with the wooden bats, but they probably won’t win as many games.
As stated earlier, if Saban was such a genius, why was he so average at MSU? Why has he had the same amount of undefeated seasons in 22 years as S.F. has had in 2? Saban has had numerous and documented advantages in his time at Bama. He exploited those to the fullest. It does not make him a coaching genius. He is definitely a master opportunist.
This argument is unbelievable. Why not just give him credit for being a great coach? Is it possible that he didn't have as much success early on in his career because he was still learning? Maybe he hires consultants and analysts now because he has the resources but also because he's continuously trying to improve? You're sounding like Eichorst with this argument. All they need are resources to win.

I’d be willing to wager that if Saban played last years UCF schedule every year, he’d have more undefeated seasons to his name.

Frost is better than Saban. But Saban is very good. Probably have to put him as second best coach in the country right now. It's close between him and Urban.
