NATIVE Ranks the 2024 Commits - UPDATED 2/8/24

Just love film on Jake Peters. Old school OL traits: constant motor, finishes blocks with pancakes and has a nasty disposition. Can't wait to see him after a couple of years of development
He's certainly one of those "under the radar" type guys, but we are seeing a theme with the kids they are targeting. They all have motors and a mean streak.

Fingers crossed on the development side of the house.

(Comparison and @HMInfluencer)

  1. OL Preston Taumua, Howdy (Anthony Munoz @NorthwoodHusker)
  2. TE Carter Nelson, NEBRASKA
  3. QB Daniel Kaelin, NEBRASKA
  4. DL Carlon Jones, tx (N. Suh @Armchair)
  5. RB Kewan Lacy, tx (Ahman Green @Warzone)
  6. OL Landen Davidson, CO (B. Stai @OneMoreTime)
  7. LB Willis McGahee IV, FL
  8. S Roger Gradney, tx
  9. CB Mario Buford, tx
  10. At Keelan Smith, MO
  11. S REX Guthrie, CO (Still a bit uncomfortable with ranking any Rex this low)
  12. OL Gibson Pyle, tx (Army All-American, but really needed him with some Marine props, IYKYK)
  13. WR QuiNN Clark, MT
  14. WR Dae’vonn Hall, NEBRASKA
  15. WR Jacory Barney, FL
  16. WR Isaiah McMorris, NEBRASKA
  17. CB Evan Taylor, NC
  18. S Braylen Prude, tx
  19. OL Jake Peters, IA (SOB like @36Blast )
  20. TE Ian Flynt, tx
  21. FB Izaac Dickey, NEBRASKA (fight me)
  22. DL Ashton Murphy, NEBRASKA
  23. S Callen Barta, KS
  24. S Donovan (not peoples) Jones, NEBRASKA
  25. P Kamdyn Koch, MD (not a doctor)
Fairly big shake up today. Moved guy with an ACL to the top of the list. It is a non-Husker comparison, A. Munoz, which makes it harder, but if you do your research and google him, you will see he had a fairly solid pro career (if you consider "all-time great" or playing for the Bengals note worthy).

Additional movement with J. Peters moving up the board. It appears many are pointing out a solid set of intangibles and "diamond in the rough" status. Motor, Nasty, Old school etc are all being tossed out. So that reminded me of ol' Blast, so I added that.

My crowd sourced influenced rankings are shaping up and I think instead of the #2 ranking list on HM. I am approaching 1b.

1. Telling people to Google Anthony Munoz makes me feel old af since I can remember watching him play.

2. A player with a Ndamukong Suh comp ranked 4th. Straight blasphemy around these parts.

You for got a couple things, so I'll just point out this one

1. Telling people to Google Anthony Munoz makes me feel old af since I can remember watching him play.

You have hit upon the rub of crowd sourced recruiting rankings. Sometimes I think the comparisons might not actually be all that good.

Putting a Nebraska QB and the latest greatest TE down the list is hard. Importance of position and the ability of others to get a “second opinion” from you allow me a bit more flexibility. Did Georgia offer Suh? Did Munoz have a FSU offer as a frosh? (I have no idea, ain’t gonna look it up, but I doubt it).

Rocketing up the charts to number one with a bullet.

Not a shake up, just adding a comp found by a rivals guy! Not enough to leap Nelson over Taumua at this point. But helps solidify #2. "Projection at raw stage of career".

Been getting some push on my Prude-ish rankings. Was reading about Braylen here on HM, and while is listed as S/OLB, I see him ending up more at OLB, especially after a J. Kearse comparison.

Been doing my HuskerMax research and there has been a shake up at the top of the rankings ya'll. Gisele or not, Me-Chicken alum or not.... Dude has rings and is the GOAT. Be sure to click on the @36Blast link.

Look for 'Native ranks the 2026 commits' ranking to drop later this week. (Are you not intrigued?)
