ALL Games are Important for the Huskers if we are to stay in the Post-Season Hunt!
#103 Huskers (13-9 & 5-5 B1G) vs #93 Penn State (14-9 & 2-8 B1G)
Penn State is much better than their 2-8 B1G record indicates, losing to #17 MD by only 6 pts Wed night. Huskers, coming off the double-digit win @ Home vs Northwestern to end a 2-game losing streak, need a Solid Win vs Penn State to show we can get a quality Win on the Road.
Petteway Watch !!!
Terran is only 3 points away from scoring his 1,000th Point in a HUSKER Uniform! (he already reached 1,000 CAREER Points in the Minnesota game on 1/20/15)
Marks only the sixth time in school history when Nebraska had a pair of players reach 1,000 career points in the same season!

Players to Watch:
Fifth-year Senior D.J. Newbill (#2) is the leading scorer in the B1G @ 21.3 ppg; with 3.1 assists and 4.9 Rebounds (While he can score from anywhere, Huskers’ best bet is to try to keep him shooting 3s from the perimeter, not his strongest point.)
Junior Brandon Taylor (#10) averages 9.9 points per game and has made 37 3-pointers.
Freshman Shep Garner (#33) has also made 37 3-pointrs.
Opening line: Huskers 5 pt. Under_Dogs

The Skinny (hhcdimes)
This is a must win for both teams on a variety of levels...both teams will be highly motivated here. The Huskers are capable of doing enough on the defensive end and it would be a shock to see a so-so Penn State defense have a big day. Can the Huskers score enough to win today? Can they generate the contact necessary to get FT attempts if their shots aren't falling?
At some point today the Huskers will need someone who is not Petteway or Shields to step up. Walt seems like the obvious choice after last game but it could be anyone (or no one). The Huskers have had Penn St's number since Miles has joined the B1G, going 3-1 including the debacle last year where they gave away the game. In a game that Penn St should be favored to win, I like the Huskers to continue their improved play in February.
Player to watch: DJ Newbill
The 6'4" Senior leads the B1G in scoring and the Nittany Lions in assists. He consistently gets to the FT line and has yet to be held in single digit scoring. You won't shut him down but you have to try. Given he's going to generate contact can you risk guarding him with Petteway for most of the game? Is this Tai Webster's responsibility? Can you use David River's length or Benny Parker's speed without Newbill exploiting it? Do you?
