Dantonio out at Michigan State

to

To be serious, he would be a very good hire for MSU.......plus that would leave our toughest non-conference opponent next year trying to hire a new coach. Also hearing Pat Narduzzi's (Pitt HC) name being thrown around.
Narduzzi was the DC there .. so I definitely could see that!

We've always had a hex over Michigan State. Even the two years I can remember them beating us (2013 and 2014) they were lucky in many respects to pull out the W. Hope that continues with the new coach.

And I hope they pull Fickell away and create turmoil for Cincy in 2020. As things stand now, the Bearcats will be ranked and likely favored to beat us next fall.

Luke Fickle would be a good hire. Not really surprised at the announcement other than I would have thought it might have been in December.
He has had his high water mark at MSU. He isn’t going to do much more and how old is he 62-63?

Narduzzi hasnt done anything at Pit, in fact, the best years that dantonio had was when narduzzi was DC at mich st. sometimes its just the best fit for both of them. pitt to mich st, the reality is from a winning perspective, probably a step down given the other contenders in the division.

Not sure about that.
Partially right.

The NCAA Division I Council announced Friday that it has relaxed transfer rules for incoming freshmen athletes in certain situations, including those on teams that have made coaching changes. Incoming freshmen who enroll in summer school and receive financial aid can transfer and play immediately without a waiver if their coach leaves prior to the first day of fall classes. The rule only applies to those students who take their first semester of classes before the start of their first regular (non-summer) academic term, which means that it isn't applicable to football early enrollees.

Walk-ons who receive financial aid and non-recruited walk-ons can also leave without sitting out. The new rules go into effect for student-athletes who transfer to new schools this fall.

WAS, a good coach. Over the past several years his teams are nearly unwatchable. Talk about a sincerely boring brand of football, it’s Michigan State. They also have absolutely hideous uniforms. Good time for him to leave, they weren’t going anywhere except downward. I’ve never thought any of his teams were that good at all. They just caught schedule breaks.

*shamefully looking at our shoetops*

*quietly* At least hey were good enough to take advantage of their schedule breaks.

Fickle would be nuts to go there if MSU is heading for a "Baylor" moment.

Reading the Detroit news story, it is possible that the issues with MSU approach those with Baylor of several years ago.

Given the background issues of sexual misconduct at MSU, the NCAA will hammer them if this is true.

So why would a successful HC want to walk into that situation?
