That’s pretty cool.Back when I made my Herbie Blackshirt logo, I actually emailed these images to Trev and the UNL Athletic Department. No response, which is fairly typical. But I wanted to show them that by making a "less-footbally" version of the Blackshirt logo (removing the helmet), we could actually apply it to several sports and create a more cohesive black theme across UNL Athletics.
I told them I wasn't holding any copyright to the images, etc., as they're already derivative of existing Blackshirt and Herbie Husker logos. This was really just a concept and I'd hoped that if they liked it, they'd hire an actual graphic design firm to implement it better than I could.

One small recommendation, a small ear of green tasseled corn under the brim band.
I love "tradition", I really do............ but the athletes today like diversity to the uniforms from week to week.
It would introduce yellow & green to the uniform and open up new patterns.
I realize that the "old Traditional" uniforms and ways are dear to us,
but if this compromise by me,
allowed the University to attract and maintain quality athlete's and a better football program, so be it
Increase NIL through marketing new color patterned gear, set an example for athlete's and NIL.......cause that's where the money's at.

Side note, it’s obvious to anyone watching that Trev believes 100% wholeheartedly what he says about the attributes that the blackshirt represents. That’s awesome to see.

Trev is pretty corporate sounding these days so I hope who he is and what he values comes across to players. Otherwise something like this could not really be appreciated. Why should these basketball players respect a football tradition at this point?
But my hope and expectation of Trev, seeing that he seems to be pretty smart, is that he purposefully is around all these athletes enough doing the relationship work that they see past the suit and corporate manner and see a guy who's been there, excelled, and loves them and the place.
If that's the case he might end up being very special. So far I see no reason he can't be.
