Why should we just pay someone 60 million to come here to coach without setting expectations and performance guidelines?

Every coach in college football has performance incentives in their contracts, including Frost’s recent contract. You’re just proposing weighing them so heavily that no candidate worth considering would entertain accepting the deal. It’s not some brilliant out-of-the-box thinking.

To do what you’re suggesting, you’d have to have a market competitive base salary AND the ludicrous incentives.
