QB CHUBBA PURDY N

I know these are highlights (not lowlights), but he gets the ball out in a hurry, nice touch on short and intermediate passes, good arm strength, generally good presence in the pocket, and he can use his legs to get out and go when necessary. Lot's to like in freshman film.
I think the quick releases is what I like the most. As you indicate, he also uses his legs when needed and is accurate with his throws. There is a lot to like.

Definitely. Now for Whip to turn him into a competitive %*@!&*!!!

Is it wrong to cringe when our new QB in the past hurdles and get flipped on the sideline? Haha. Showed some guts and drive to get first down.

More often, I like how he sees openings and gets big chunk yards on scrambles and then slides. Also looked adept at fielding poor snaps. Love his eyes staying downfield and finding receivers. His size, speed and arm look great.
Hopefully he doesn't have to be adept at fielding bad snaps this year. We all know how that goes

Not his job, and quite frankly very tough to change someone's personality. Chubba is already coming here knowing how competitive the room is. That in itself tells me he is a competitor and confident in his abilities.

What Whip needs to do is teach this room how to prepare, to trust their instincts, to teach them the proper mechanics; along with many other things they weren't taught under Verdu. But most importantly, to make practice hard so the games are easy from a preparation standpoint. If he succeeds there, we will be in very good shape.

His throwing motion is eerily similar to Frost's when he was a QB. Hope we get the same results. ;)

It's great to see DONU winning a recruiting battle with OU and to see the interest across several positions that athletes are showing. I didn't play football, so my talent evaluation is suspect at best. Do others think his FSU film looks better than what Haarberg showed (including a very strong arm) in the spring game? Regardless, we will have serious competition at the QB position which is good.

The only thing I worry about with QB recruits is their ability to play in winter weather. And you really can't practice for that unless you practice under Belichik.

Everything else can be coached if the player is willing to be coached, although remembering the shot put looking SF motion when he was QB, I'm not sure that's always the case.

Some, the lucky ones, have always had a good delivery.

I just hope we finally have a quarterback who doesn’t throw off his back leg.
