Great news! Impressive to pick up 2 in-demand QBs in the same cycle.

If Chubba can help elevate the program the way his brother did at Iowa State, then the future looks good!

For now, I assume that Thompson will start for 1-2 years and then hand things off to whoever emerges from the group of Purdy, Smothers, Haarberg, and Torres. Quite possible, of course, that one of the latter three are not still at NU after the 2022 season.

I'd bet Thompson is one and done. Never know but he'll be 24 next year and he will need to take a shot at the pros if he's got the goods.

He's already been accepted as a student, I'm assuming he intends to participate in spring ball.

If he is not one and done it’s because he didn’t have a good year — which means Purdy, Smothers et al will compete to start in 2023 regardless.
