Luke McCaffrey to Louisville

If he goes there and plays receiver, then that is a head-scratcher. Unless he wanted that here and Frost wanted him to stay at QB.

If he wanted to play WR he could have easily done that at NU. Don't think the staff ever told him you are a QB or out of here.

I don’t think anything new can be extracted from this. It was obvious before that he probably didn’t leave due to playing time because he got plenty as a RS Freshman this last season.

I had serious doubts he would ever develop here and maybe he felt the same way. So best for everyone that he moved on.

It’s pretty clear he wanted to be QB. SF basically shouted from the rooftops in the media that he wanted Luke to be a QB here.

Like I said, I think the most likely case was that Luke didn’t feel like he was developing as a QB and so he left. I agree, he wasn’t developing as a QB.

Maybe he will find his happy place and do awesome at UL and maybe he will find out he’s not cut out for QB.

Hmmm, So these are my thoughts/questions. Luke and Wandale are both gone. They both went to schools an hour apart? We heard that the offense did not want to extend the season with a bowl game. We have heard culture mentioned. So, what if these two, regardless of how dynamic, were a rot in the locker room? Have not heard anything on that front and they seemed to be really close as far as friends/teammates. Maybe it will be for the better that they have decided to leave?

If bolded is true it is probably more an indictment on the staff since we were having at least one of them be the face of the program and push our NLI ability.

Very athletic players for sure and seemed to have good attitudes on the surface. But below the surface? Dunno. Maybe WR’s trainer and dad were getting to be a pain? Luke didn’t workout with the team last summer so who knows? Maybe the both dads were more of a pain that the kids were worth. Luke hasn’t shown he will be a viable QB.

They will likely find out the grass is not always greener.

At this point it’s time to move on and hope Scott can get this thing figured out.

Good luck to the young man I hope he does well and gets what he feels he needs from his new home

To me, this tells me the type of competitor the kids truly is. Could have gone to a non P5 school and walked in as the starter. Remember, Pass might be a R-Jr, but Luke is a R-Fr and all he wanted was a chance to develop at the QB position. Now he gets it. Additionally, with Cunningham in the room, it might make it an easier decision to transition to slot (eventually) and get on the field as they don't seem to have the depth issues we have.
He isn't a QB and the sooner he accepts that fact, the better. He reminds me of Crouch - even looked a lot like him with the #7 on his jersey - but as a QB he is not using his talents to the best of his ability I believe -but I wish him good luck.
