I'm old enough to remember heckling (but always respected!) OU fans for falling off the CFB map with their 1 dedade sabbatical. Karma's a bitch.I joined prior to OU’s October run though Texas, Kansas State and Nebraska in 2000.
Apparently so is spelling.I'm old enough to remember heckling (but always respected!) OU fans for falling off the CFB map with their 1 dedade sabbatical. Karma's a bitch.
I should fix that. These newfangled lap[tops are sensitive to fat fingers.Apparently so is spelling.
Nah, I knew what you meant..... I cringe when I see all my typos and then I laugh about it.... LOL....I should fix that. These newfangled lap[tops are sensitive.
I miss Merle.P.S. This is also a tribute to one of my all-time favorite members, Merle, who was one of the very originals, but is no longer with us.

Internet gold indeed. The board has changed.Back in the day Huskerpedia was inhabited by dozens of K-State fans. Some of the back and forth between them and Red Dane was internet gold.
Always a lot of good back and fourth between Husker fans and opposing fans in the old days.
I miss those days. Maybe HM can create a forum for the old curmudgeon's.Back when Huskerpedia was free it was a free for all. Hard to believe I’ve been a member here for over 19 years.
You are correct! I was thinking of the 1998 season with the four losses. My bad!Although the 1999 was one of Nebraska top 2 or 3 non-national championship teams.
12-1. Only loss was to Texas -- but then we handled the Horns in the Big 12 Championship game.
Nebraska finished #3 in the BCS Standings that determined the two BCS Championship game participants -- which were #1 Florida State and #2 Virginia Tech. Interestingly, the next time the BCS formula was tweaked (as they did every couple of years), it actually would have had Nebraska playing FSU for the BCS title. Nebraska did end up #2 in the final Coaches Poll after the '99 season.
Yeah -- hard to imagine -- but when the select group of us members were here in 1999, we still believed Nebraska would always be a national title contender. We had no sense of the NU-CU nightmare in 2001 -- nor the disastrous 2002 season -- nor all of the firings and hirings that would follow.
I remember,I was a lurker then.Back in the day Huskerpedia was inhabited by dozens of K-State fans. Some of the back and forth between them and Red Dane was internet gold.
