Alternate Uniforms Released: Going With Blackshirt Theme

Rather than this uniform, I'd prefer letting every player choose his own uniform to wear in whatever colors he wanted. Now that would be something I'd pay to see. And it would be just as much a Nebraska look as these. These look like South Carolina or Cincinnati.

Regarding this specific uniform I wish the numbers were red with a white outline and while we’re at it, if were gonna go with alt logos and colors then let’s go ahead and change the helmet. Put a big red iron N on this helmet and I like it a lot better. Or even the Huskers script logo. If we’re gonna go this far for one game let’s just go all the way. I mean, after all, if the kids like it.....

I can live with it for one game too, if it's an away game.

I get it. But think of it this way, how many times over your lifetime have you been in the sports apparel section of a store and seen a Nebraska shirt that the primary color was black? How about a Nebraska hat with black on it? Plenty of times right? Hell, even your profile picture has a black and red hat in it. My attitude is, if they can put it on apparel, why not put it on the uniform every once in awhile? When done right, black and red look really good together.

I’m just working on my outrage. I’m not very good at it, but I hear it’s kind of required, especially as it relates to uniforms.

They do green and pink Husker apparel too. Should that make it ok for the uniforms? Apparel and uniforms are apples and oranges.

If I were establishing brand guidelines for the University and Adidas, I'd make it clear that you can use the color black as much as you want to for the entire team, but any references to "Blackshirts" is restricted to defensive players only (no specialists).

If you want to give the offensive players a mascot, or moniker, you gotta use something else.

Also, you can tell Jesse Kosch and Alex Henery that they have to give their blackshirts back.
