I remember a time before I was drafted, A couple friends and I were hanging out at west bank and picked up some LSD.
It was the following weekend that I called some cats to come over to my house to drop the acid. We were sitting in my room which was in the basement of parents house. ( yeah I know insert joke)
Anyways listening music and laughing right at the peak of the experience good friend of mine says...lets go somewhere. The conversation lasted about the where the whys and all in-between.
We got up and walked outside. Was winter and a light snow. We got into my car...62 Implala. Started the car letting the car warm up radio playing still talking, playing mind games etc.
Seemed like we sat there for about another hour. Finally I look and put the car in R and backed out to the street. We decided we were going to go to the store. Started off fine...First stop sign, did great! Next street a stop light. I slowed down and then stopped when it turned red. Problem was I was still about 1/2 block from the corner. Started off again and by the time I got to the light it changed again. I must of stopped for the same light 3 times. Next street I take a left...no problem. Snowing a little harder yet all is groovy.
Next thing I know in the rearview mirror I see the flashing lights...It really seemed to be going along to the song on the radio...then the siren. Whoa! Friend in the back seat yelled ..Shut up...he'll know we are high!!!!
I pulled over and waited. You could hear a pin drop as the officer walked up to the car. He motioned me to roll my windows down..If you could have seen the trails that produced
I rolled the window down and he asked ...where are you headed? I pointed and said...straight ahead officer. He said no, where are you going? Oh .to the store officer. Do you know why I pulled you over? No! Well at the stop sign back there you failed to signal your turn. I did? yes! Well officer my signal switch is broker as i reached for it to show him how loose it was. He said well dont you have any arms? It's at the very moment I peaked! Thoughts went racing through my head..thinking ok if I dont have any arms, how did I drive, I did I get from my house to here. I was afraid to look down as I may see my arms were indeed missing. What seemed like forever I looked down and to my suprise I saw I DID have arms and that very moment I said...I do I DO HAVE ARMS OFFICER AND THREW THEM BOTH OUT THE WINDOW AND SAID...SEE! HEREE THEY ARE..
Next moment he asked us to turn around and he would escort us home safely.
