Springfield senior lineman Kevin Williams was named Division II co-defensive player of the year, highlighting a list of eight area players to receive first-team honors in divisions I and II of the 2010 Associated Press All-Ohio football teams released Monday night.
Williams, a 6-foot-2, 275-pound senior who has committed to Nebraska, recorded 111 tackles, including 22 for losses, and 10.5 sacks for the Blue Devils this season. Williams shared the top D-II defensive honor with fellow linemen Joel Heath of Cincinnati Mount Healthy and Chase Hounshell of Mentor Lake Catholic.
