Yeah, pretty much. Recruits will ask for more followers to get to 2k, 5k, etc.Ok, so lets say I don't know anything about twitter, what happens when you get your 'followers' up? Is it kind of bragging rights?

It's not. I just saw it from a guy who talks to a lot of recruits and found it interesting. So thought I'd share.And this is surprising?
It's a completely meaningless status thing. The other meaningless, yet important, status thing is the "ratio". The ratio is the difference between how many followers you have and how many people you follow.
