While I don't find this surprising, I do find it hilarious.
Coach Prime is turning into a tyrant.
I can't see many players tolerating this behavior from their coach.

Re-reading the article, it sounds like this is something that happened a while ago, not something that is new. So I'm guessing that the people who left are people who entered the transfer portal several weeks ago. This is more of an explanation of why people left rather than news of people now leaving.
