Potential (Incoming) Transfer List

Ellis Boyd Redding

Last year there were over 700 transfers in college basketball. This year, the list is smaller, but continues to grow.

The current list is at the link:
https://espn.go.com/blog/jeff-goodm...9/top-10-transfers-and-complete-transfer-list

It includes a brief write-up on the Top 25 (per ESPN). There are two in the Top 25 that have Nebraska listed as one of their choices: #13 Tyler Harris (Providence) and #25 Anton Gill (Louisville).

13. Tyler Harris, Providence (eligible immediately) -- He had his issues at Providence, but Tobias’ younger brother averaged 11.6 points as a sophomore and 9.9 points and 4 boards this past season. He’s eligible immediately for his final college campaign.

Considering: Connecticut, Arizona, Auburn, Boston College, UMass, Auburn, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, La Salle.

T25. Anton Gill, Louisville -- The sophomore didn’t play much for the Cardinals but was a fairly sought-after recruit coming out of high school.

Considering: Providence, Nebraska, East Carolina

There are some interesting big men, but no mention of Nebraska in their interest list.

With Evelyn committing, I doubt Gill is an option. Plenty of guards on the team, especially if Petteway returns. I hope the staff is working every big on that list. They may have their favorites, but not sure if the feelings are mutual.

Was there a specific issue for Harris that the write up references?

Thanks Ellis

Here is ESPN's Transfer List Updated through May 4, 2015.

http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/jef...9/top-10-transfers-and-complete-transfer-list

Interesting to see Nebraska is listed as an interest by four of the top 20 transfers.

7. Tyler Harris, Providence (eligible immediately) -- He had his issues at Providence, but Tobias’ younger brother averaged 11.6 points as a sophomore, and 9.9 points and 4 rebounds this past season. He’s eligible immediately for his final college season.
Considering: Connecticut, Arizona, Auburn, Boston College, UMass, Auburn, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, La Salle

8. Anton Grady, Cleveland State (eligible immediately) -- Grady had a very productive three seasons with the Vikings, averaging 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds this past season, finishing with three straight games of at least 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Considering: Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Xavier, Pittsburgh, Wichita State, Dayton, NC State, Nebraska

15. Anton Gill, Louisville -- The sophomore didn’t play much for the Cardinals but was a fairly sought-after recruit coming out of high school.
Considering: Georgetown, Nebraska, East Carolina, Providence

19. Tomasz Gielo, Liberty (eligible immediately) -- The native of Poland played only seven games last season before suffering a stress fracture in his right foot. Gielo is 6-9 and knocked down better than 40 percent of his 3-pointers the past two seasons.
Considering: Ole Miss, Kansas State, Boise State, Nevada, Marquette, BYU, Vanderbilt, Nebraska

Grady and Gielo may be stretches, but we seem to be in the running for Harris, who plans to visit, but nothing confirmed yet. Getting him here for a campus visit is crucial to our chances. Gill has already visited and we seem to be high on his list.

Harris or Grady would be a nice "rent a player" for a year! Fill a gap to help Hammond inside.

Some places are reporting that Gill has committed to transfer to Nebraska. Anyone else hear this.

Reportedly committed to Wichita State (He visited there last week).

He would have been a nice pick up, but I can understand his picking the Shockers. Solid program, and he's a perfect replacement for Darius Carter, maybe even and upgrade for the departing SR. You can't get too caught up in losing players to programs like WSU as much as we'd love to have had him. They are primed for another tourney run and he's a perfect fit.

Michigan F, Max Bielfeldt, 6-7, 245 lb, 5.1 ppg, 3.6 rbs, 0.5 apg.

Max Bielfeldt, 6-8, F, RS Jr., Michigan (immediately eligible) -- considering Iowa State, Boston College, Kansas State, Bradley, DePaul, Stanford

He could become interested in Nebraska if he is eligible to transfer within the B1G.

It appears he only had one good game, against Rutgers. If he had an appeal submitted, I would guess he already has a particular school in mind. We should hear something soon.

If Jake Rudock can transfer from Iowa to Michigan, why couldn't this guy? There was Evan Smotrycz from Michigan who transferred to Maryland last year. I don't understand the why of the appeal.

As Nebraska's search for a big man for the 2015-16 season continues in full force, a very interesting development has popped up in that regard this week.

HuskerOnline.com confirmed Wednesday that Michigan graduate senior power forward transfer Max Bielfeldt, who is immediately eligible next season, is in Lincoln for an official visit.

The 6-foot-8, 245-pound native of Peoria, Ill., played in 69 career games with the Wolverines from 2013-15, and he earned Michigan's "Sixth Man Award" last season after averaging 5.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per game off the bench, all of which were career highs.

I'm thinking (hoping ) that we will get either Max Bielfeldt or Noah Dickerson to fill our remaining open scholarship! (I don't see any emoji for 'crossed-fingers' though )

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Miles really sold Bielfeldt on him being a 4/5 next yr. &quot;There are a lot of minutes to be earned,&quot; said Bielfeldt. <a href="http://t.co/FAk5iZ4FmK">http://t.co/FAk5iZ4FmK</a></p>&mdash; Josh Harvey (@JoshHarveyScout) <a href="https://twitter.com/JoshHarveyScout/status/599011623152455680">May 15, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Not a Scout member, but apparently he liked Nebraska and would like to make a decision sooner rather than later.<iframe style="display: none;" allowtransparency="true" scrolling="no" id="rufous-sandbox" frameborder="0"></iframe>
