Penn State Week Practice: Thursday Zoom Presser With Coach Frost

As long as this open competition actually results in changes to the depth chart, I like it.

If it’s an open competition and we trot out Kade Warner and Levi Falck again, I’ll go nuts. Same with AM.

Myles Farmer was rewarded by getting benched after having 2INTs. I understand he probably blew an assignment on the longTD run but.. I’d like to see his snap count increase.

Chins specifically called out Farmer as earning more time. That does not mean he will start but it does mean you can expect to see him more.

Farmer had a decent game, but if he didn't have a ball bounce off a helmet and a QB throw late and behind a receiver, would you be clamoring for our senior starter to lose his spot or significant playing time? All one had to do was look at the number of people greatly concerned at his suspension to know that many see him as a pretty good player. I'm happy Farmer earned some time, but I don't think we are looking at his entire body of work during the first half. And before you start saying the coaches never play the younger guys, just rewatch that game and see which receivers were getting time late in the game. Fleming obviously earned some trust.

Can't argue that, but I did notice significant amount of missed tackles and "big hits" that resulted in YAC by the two that came back in the game. I don't understand why people don't wrap up anymore, it's not just a Nebraska thing but football in general.

1) He was in position to make the play.
2) He made the plays.
3) I’ve seen easier INTs dropped.
4) So yes, I would prefer the younger guy get the burn rather than the senior started who is a known commodity. This defense ain’t gonna turn the corner until we get some playmakers on all 3 levels of the defense.
5) I also acknowledged the long TD run was probably his fault for taking a poor angle and being out of position, so I was looking at the body of work.
6) Yeah, theyre *finally* playing young guys. And it’s mainly due to complete ineptitude at the WR position. After the first quarter vs OSU they should’ve realized Liewer, Falck and Warner arent what the doctor ordered and let the young guys run around. Absolutely no separation.
