Will Schweitzer Scouting Report:A bit of a tweener, doesn't have the weight to be a defensive end, but has the pass rushing ability to stand up off the edge and get to the quarterback while also dropping into coverage to cover tight ends and backs. Can also play inside, physical at the point of attack and can strike the ball carrier. Moves well in space and covers a lot of ground. Active hands and can break up passes in coverage. Needs to continue to add weight and strength. Projects as a multi-year Power 5 starter and potential NFL draft pick.
Not necessarily. IMPO, the only scholarship linebacker who it's looking like they probably won't pan out is David Alston. I think the jury is still out on everyone else at this point.
Nebraska has been trying to build that room since Frost got there. You lose three guys after this season, so heading into '21 you're looking at 12 scholarship LB'ers - 13 if you assume Luke Reimer will be a scholarship guy by then. The staff wants 16 or so scholarship LB'ers.
In 2021, you'll have six of those guys as upperclassmen (Sr's Caleb Tannor and Eteva Mauga-Clements; Jr's Garrett Nelson, Luke Reimer, Niko Cooper and David Alston). Not saying there won't be more attrition, that's inevitable, but as Chinander, Ruud and Dawson build that room up, you'll start to see the results. You gotta love the profile of kids that they're getting: Tall, long and athletic.
