I think its just with the posts from prior to the platform switch. I see the same thing as you on the old posts, but when embeds are done now I can see them just fine.
 
I tried embedding a Tweet on the new platform and it didn't work (via copy and paste "embed tweet" from Twitter and pasting it into here).
 





This is how I embedded (remove spaces between square brackets):

[ MEDIA=twitter]747877415368654848[/MEDIA ]

Looks like it would take a bit of a munge through the DB to update the old tweets, but possible. Wouldn't want to do it against live data. ;)
