I’m just so happy they have this super exciting system in place. And all these other bowl games that have such a dramatic affect and/or implications on the top 4 spots makes for fantastic January and December drama.
How 'bout zero teams & go back to the bowls?Need at least 8 teams
It would still have come down to Clemson v Alabama this year. They are the two best teams and they have proven it, again. How 'bout zero teams & go back to the bowls?
Exactly. Some people just want to bitch. It would still have come down to Clemson v Alabama this year. They are the two best teams and they have proven it, again.
ESPN won’t allow that. The thing is, adding more teams just means more blowouts. A meaningful playoff system in cfb is impossible - especially with ESPN pimping the SEC and ACC (any coincidence that they are the majority partners in both conferences networks?).
I say blow it up and go back to the bowls with conference affiliations. Unless Nebraska is ever in the playoffs, I simply refuse to watch them. I DID watch the the other “meaningless” bowl games. For the most part they were all entertaining, intriguing and reasonably competitive.
