• persistent negative turnover margin (-99 the last 20 years)
• turnovers at the most inopportune time
• stupid penalties an inopportune times?
• inability to move the ball and burn time off the clock late in the game?
• innability to stop average opponents late in the 4th qtr?

Can these be explained away by

• bad coaching?
• bad luck?
• lack of talent?
• poor practices?
• culture?
• poor strength and conditioning?

I think not. Something is amiss.

Yeah, reviewing the stats from the OT losses over the last 7 years is bizarre. It’s not that its been one coach or on QB, etc. 4 different QB, 3 different coaching staffs. The stuff that has been happening that just seems to keep this program from turning the corner is weird!

That‘s about as good an idea as I’ve heard - these losses are just so uncanny and otherworldly. Bad luck, bad play, bad coaching? None of that explains (to me) the years of futility that have been so consistent across so many staffs, administrations and rosters. So odd…

I do believe some of these things persist over multiple coaching regimes until something offsets, until you create a success and then build off of that. it’s little steps. You gotta believe Rhule knows this. One mistake becomes two and then four and then … whereas one success becomes two and then four … thinking we can wash four, eight, ten years of stink in one swoop isn’t logical.
