It was definitely an illegal pass today. The question of whether or not the penalty can be called after the fact during review is an interesting one. It makes sense to me that in an instance like this that they can add the penalty. Adding something like a holding after the fact is far less reasonable in my mind.

I'm glad it didn't end up mattering.

Guys, you realize that the NCAA has a published rule-book you can download right? I was thinking the same thing earlier, but I went to rule 12 in my PDF of the NCAA rule book and found out that "Yes, in fact that was a reviewable play!"

Illegal forward pass results in a loss of Dow and return of the ball to the original line of scrimmage. That is what was enforced. There was no additional penalty yards.
