This is a another young man who attended the Spring game from Wyoming and was impressed with this visit.....we are recruiting him as a DE, but he has played OL also....very impressive on film....other schools such as Oregon have offered so this kid is the real deal....Barney Cotton is his lead recruiter....

Only Scout has rated him thus far and they have him as a 3-star at this early stage in the 2014 recruiting cycle.....

Teaser on HOL:

Casper (Wyo.) Natrona County lineman Taven Bryan visited Nebraska for the spring game and learned late last weekend NU had offered him.

The Huskers have a real shot to reel him in and Sam McKewon nails it:

The fast-rising prospect from a lightly-recruited state visited Nebraska for the spring game and now has an offer on the defensive side, according to Husker Online.

Oregon’s in the mix, as will most of the Pac-12 schools before it’s all said and done. He won’t be under the radar for another month. Nebraska needs to close this one.

From a Colorado State site before he got his offer from Nebraska as a DE....schools are looking at him at quite a few positions...

Bryan has played offensive line high school, but would prefer to play defense at the next level. HIs choice to play defense could affect where he could end up. Washington wants to place him at defensive end, as does Colorado State, Washington State is recruiting him at offensive lineman, and Wyoming is looking at Bryan as a tight end in addition to the possibility of playing offensive or defensive line.

The main things that Bryan is looking for is a school that has good academics, a good football team and one that has a family atmosophere, you know, the generics.

All of the recruiting sites pretty much show him as an OT.....but we are recruiting him as a DE....at 250-260 the perfect weight and he has decent speed to play the position too at a 4.8 in the 40....

We have a good shot at his commitment....but as Sam said we need to close fast as he is starting to blow up on the national stage....especially on the west coast....

This one is a pretty good lump of clay for our coaches to work with. Almost liked his offensive line work better than his defensive clips. Either side of the ball, he finishes every single play which is great to see. Big frame on this guy, still room to grow a bit. Decent speed, (I liked the clip where he ran from the far hash all the way to the sideline to take out the RB for a short gain). On strictly a defensive note, he doesn't allow himself to get locked up by a blocker, fast hands - has a bit of a swim move goin' for him, and a fast first couple steps on a bull rush.
Has the physical tools, size, and frame. Potential here.
