Should have never lost that game…ruined my night as well.
I guess as I am older now and I just don’t let it bother me as much.
Sports kind of pales in comparison to real world stuff.
I was a soldier for 25 years and what I saw around the world made me thank the good Lord I am an American.
Sports losses are just…sports losses to me as I hit 70 in a few weeks.
And…as I say that…remember what I said in the first line of this post.
Grrrrrrrr….
Darn it!
STILL gets to me from time to time!
We "older" guys are all the same!
I am ok now; but, at the end of the game, it was just too much to hold back on. I, also, was bummed out, as you know. As you, I am very close to this team, doing what I do. So, it has been hard to restrain myself, you know?
So, John, I just heard about Greg Sharpe having symptoms of pancreatic cancer! Wow, again, it puts into perspective, what is really important in life, doesn't it? You mentioned your experience in the service, and, now, Greg Sharpe comes up with a terrible diagnosis! What you experienced, and what Greg is now experiencing, is real life.
Baseball is just a game.
I want to send out prayers to Greg and his family, as I pray for his recovery.
I want to dedicate the rest of the baseball season to Greg and his family. I promise, I will keep the game in perspective, and always think of Greg and how much he means to all of Husker Nation.
Greg, you hang in there, Sir! We are here for you, and I know, all of us will keep you in our prayers. Hang in there....and God bless!!
