Tough Game coming up @ Maryland, tied (with Purdue) for 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] place in B1G. Maryland is tough at home (15-1 on the season) but has had their share of close games; their last three home games being decided by a total of nine points. Scouting Maryland
Maryland is this year’s Nebraska of the B1G. From an improbable start they'll likely make the NCAA Tournament. The Terrapins stretch opponents’ defenses to the 3-point line, ranking second in the Big Ten with 197 3-pointers; shooting 38 percent from beyond the arc.

Mark Turgeon was on the hot seat coming into his 4th year at Maryland and first in the B1G.
He hadn't gone to the NCAA tourney and had several guys transferring out of the program.
The addition of McDonald's All-American Melo Trimble plus some very key returners and a change to a San Antonio inspired motion offense has the Terrapins as almost a lock to make their first tourney since 2009-10.
Good: Maryland doesn't pressure into turnovers and isn't a team after offensive rebounds
Bad: Good 3pt Shooting team, draws a lot of contact but doesn't foul much, Good FT shooting team.
Overall runs a tight defense
Honestly this is the sort of matchup where you need Maryland to look ahead to Wisconsin, Nebraska to play better than their numbers, or both.

Player to watch: Melo Trimble
The 6'3" freshman is probably the 2nd best rookie in the league and one of the best at getting to the line, shooting a ridiculous 179 FTs so far. Additionally he's a 39% 3pt shooter when he doesn't feel like driving or passing to teammates.
The Skinny
Maryland was picked to finish in the bottom tier but behind former McDonalds All-American Trimble along with Dez Wells and Jake Layman they've formed a trio like Nebraska's except everyone is better. The Terps also have some girth in the paint as well as some complimentary pieces that rounds out a squad competing for 2nd in the B1G. This is fairly bad matchup for Nebraska's strengths as they're essentially playing a more talented version of themselves on the road. The Huskers should be able to find their way into the lane but need to take their time to make shots instead of bracing for contact that won't be there. No doubt we've been tinkering with our offense so hopefully we will yield some better road results. Seems like a lot to ask at this point to expect us to score over 60. Can we throttle a team like this on their home court?
Prediction: Maryland 68 Nebraska 56
