Right now Texas is sitting at 6-5. I don't think anyone would be happy at 6-5 but new coaches need time to rebuild and install a culture. I really like what Strong has done especially in the wake of his dismissals.

If one were to focus on wins and losses everyone in Texas would be up in arms. But context matters. Of all of Texas' losses, they have lost to the following rankings: unranked, 12, 7, 11, and the 11th ranked team. But they did something we have not this year, they beat a top 25 team.

Nebraska is 8-2 while not having even beaten 1 top 25 team. Yes we have not lost to an unranked team, but we also only played 2 ranked teams and were destroyed in both outings (regardless of the scoreboard). Texas showed poorly against BYU (Strong's 3rd game as HC) and against a well coached K-State team recently. But let's just remember, that given their tough schedule, they have the 19th ranked scoring defense, and 29th in total defense. That is better than Nebraska in both categories.

With our cupcake schedule, we actually rank lower. This is why 9 wins matters not!

Texas wins this year

a 3-7 Texas Tech
a 2-7 Iowa State
a 3-7 North Texas
a 3-7 KU
a 5-5 Okie St
a 6-4 West Virginia

now that is one tough schedule; Bo should be ashamed.

The same could be said for Nebraska's wins.

a 3-7 Florida Atlantic
a 6-4 FCS team
a 4-6 Fresno State
a 6-4 Miami
a 4-6 Illinois
a 4-6 Northwestern
a 6-4 Rutgers
a 3-7 Purdue

Not exactly a daunting schedule.

Hmmm, so you think it's better to look good than be good? Interesting...

It can be spun both ways. The same could be said about those who complain about the lack of "quality wins" ("Yes, we won, but it was close/ugly/inferior opponent. We didn't look good doing it. We did nothing to be proud of"), or criticize "quality losses" ("Yes, we came back and/or played them close, but we still lost to an inferior opponent, even though they may have been ranked higher than us. We never beat anyone decent, so we did nothing to be proud of")

When Texas is contending in 3 years, if anyone brings this up, Bolievers will make a completely different argument.

What you really meant to say is, that when Texas starts to Pay it's Recruits Better, the Boleavers will still be complainin'.

Here's an example already! We didn't even have to wait 3 years!

Do you have evidence Texas is paying their recruits? Or is any smear ok as long as it protects Bo?

Who are you trying to convince?

FWIW ... In Texas's last three games (all wins), they've held their opponent to its lowest point total of the season. The Longhorns defense is playing on a level reminiscent of the 2009 and 2010 Huskers. UT hosts TCU on Thanksgiving. Don't be surprised if Texas pulls the upset.

My guess is Charlie will have things moving in the right direction soon. He'll chip away at TCU, ATM, Baylor recruiting and then start teaching them how to be champions. Its a learned behavior.
