Coaching carousel in the B1G

So is Michigan State's coach a bit on the hot seat? Rutgers?

And two years ago SF's name was surfacing for several heavyweight gigs. Is there any interest in him these days, with the thought that he simply inherited a hopeless dumpster fire in Lincoln and might want out?

Yes, he will probably leave and take the Rutgers job.

I think Tom Allen and Lovie Smith removed themselves from the proverbial hot seat.

Aside from Chris Ash at Rutgers honestly the only other true hot seat is probably Jim Harbaugh at Michigan. He'll never be fired but he might be "encouraged" to leave for the NFL or elsewhere.

Hard to believe the defending B1G West division champion has one win this season - Northwestern's (1-7).
what a difference a year makes, but Pat Fitzgerald is a fixture in Evanston... must be a nice feeling.

Not a snowball's chance in hell Frost would leave for any other coaching job right now. Pretty sure there would be some sort of non-competition agreement in his contract somewhere which would restrict him from taking another coaching job within the conference. Just a guess.

You can generally remove Pat Fitzgerald (NW) and Kirk Ferentz (Iowa) from any hot seat discussions. Unless they start fondling cheerleaders or something, those guys pretty much can write their own ticket.

If Frost can break out a couple of 8+ win seasons, you can probably add him to that list, too.

Another guy - not in the B1G of course - who is lock tight safe to infinity is Mike Gundy. With a lot of help from T. Boone Pickens, dude turned a total loser program into one that has some quite decent respectability year-in and year-out.

He has a rolling 5-year guaranteed contract, so Gundy is a lifer in Stillwater.
