It's never too early to start planning your holiday travel for next Christmas/New Years. :)

Big Ten possibilities:

Playoff Sites for top 4 - Semis are the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl
Championship at Dallas Cowboy stadium.
Future rotation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/College_Football_Playoff

Other potential destinations - using a tiered system:

Orange Bowl!!! - Big Ten must appear at least three times over a 12 year period. Opponent is ACC, which I think is great...B1G hasn't had an ACC opponent for a few years.

Tier 2: Capital One (SEC), Outback (SEC), Holiday (Pac-12)
- LOVE seeing San Diego back in the mix!

Tier 3: Gator/Music City (SEC), Kraft Fight Hunger (Pac-12), Pinstripe (ACC)
- Not a big fan of NYC for the holidays; but, the Fight Hunger in San Francisco is a nice new alternative.

Tier 4: Heart of Dallas/Armed Forces (Big 12), an unnamed Detroit bowl sponsored by the Detroit Lions (TBA)

The biggest disappointment here to me is that there are no matchups with top Big12 teams outside of the potential playoff matchups.

I know many Husker fans look down on the Tier 2/3 bowls as "beneath us"; but, my thinking is we need to accept it for what it is and still enjoy trips. With our current collective mentality, I think some of those lower bowl officials are going to say "well, Nebraska fans will only travel to the big bowls, we'll pass on them for our bowl and pick a team with fans truly excited and interested in making the trip."

I don't ever want to be in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.

While I do agree that our goal each year should not be the make it to the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl; in the event that we 'fall' to this destination (or the Gator/Music City/Pinstripe), we need to have fans attending these games or we'll get passed to an even lower tier as an up and coming or rebounding team might be perceived to bring more fans.

Lets get through the meat grinder of a schedule first.
