Reading Tom's last book right now and it talks in there how Nebraska went from everyone's favorite team (my words) after winning the first NC to being the most hated after Lawrence Phillips incident plus a few others and no one wanting Nebraska to win their second NC in a row. Espn and Cbs (I believe) were the worst in portraying Nebraska as a win at all cost school. We shall see how this ends up.

They won't get dragged through the dirt by the media as much as us. The bama players were backups, where LP was a starter and a standout (although anyone unbiased could see that the abundance of talent we had on that team made his presence not critical for winning)
that's the way I recall it. The media enjoys building people and teams up, then tearing them down.
