This past season, Hargrove averaged 25.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per game. The season before, she averaged 25.0 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game.

Prep Girls Hoops ranks Hargrove as the #2 prospect in girls’ basketball in Illinois. The top recruit in Illinois, Aaliyah Guyton, listed her top 5 earlier this week and Nebraska was among the teams she had narrowed her choices down to.

Between the town’s culture and Hargrove’s family’s athletic acumen — her father Anthony is a former NFL defensive end — playing sports wasn’t a choice as much as an obvious way of life, something everyone did and a way to spend her free time.
