The next 13 days are ginormous for Matt Rhule and the Nebraska program. The bye week is here in the nick of time. NU is going to have to lean on the young an inexperienced at WR and RB going forward.
Biggest understatement of the seasonThe next 13 days are ginormous for Matt Rhule and the Nebraska program.
I saw the PFF for the game. Malachi played 57 snaps. 2nd only to Bullock.Malachi almost got hit in stride and would have been gone, had the ball not been over throw. But it was good seeing youth out there
Completely agree!Fingers crossed on his health. While he has dropped a couple balls, he is experience, runs good routes, and blocks well. We need him down the stretch big time.
Confirmed out for year with ACL.
That sucks on so many levels.
We need him. He's not a WR1, but he is a serviceable #2 or #3 WITH experience. One addition to this: Rhule said they weren't sure if Washington could come back for another year, but Marcus is interested in returning if possible.
You're not kidding. Looking at the depth chart without Washington, Nebraska has 1 Senior (Kemp) while everyone else is a Freshman or Sophomore. As many have pointed out, unless a bunch of the new players step up the second half of the season, Nebraska needs to hit the portal hard for difference-making receivers. Unfortunately, the heavy reliance on the run game (necessitated by the lack of experienced receivers) isn't going to help sell most recruits on opportunities for receivers. We need him. He's not a WR1, but he is a serviceable #2 or #3 WITH experience.
