Zach Wiegert on 2022 CFHOF Ballot

Gary Pinkel? Really!?!

Like I said, it was a really weak coaching ballot. It's also tough to overlook 191 career wins. The other candidates were Jim Carlen, Pete Cawthon, Sr., Larry Coker, Billy Jack Murphy or Darryl Rodgers.

They are really reaching if Stinkel gets in. Decent coach, yes, but certainly not HOF material.

I'm not sure how many total ballots are cast each year, but through my job I get a ballot. So if I get one, there have to be easily hundreds of ballots. It's really tough to decide on which 12 FBS level candidates to choose from, and nothing against Wiegert, but offensive lineman don't jump off the ballot like some of the other names do. My ballot:

The FBS Coaches section was really weak, but I voted for Gary Pinkel and Larry Blakeney.

Agreed that pool of candidates was easy to find lots of suitable inductees on the player side.

Is voting for 2 coaches required? Seems high, since the great ones almost always stick around a long time, whereas the players are turning over every 4-5 years.

You can vote for up to 2 coaches, so yes, a person could choose not to vote for anyone.

Not for me. He's on the ballot, so the CFB HoF doesn't have an issue with what he did off the field at USC. Plus, his infractions had no impact on his ability to play.
