I got the impression along the way that academics mattered a lot for him. Who’dathunk it? Math or computer science major IIRC.
I think ND is a much harder job than most think... the academic standards are high and an issue in recruiting. FSU will let you in if you have a pulse. Easier to get players at FSU.

When Kelly leaves in a year or two hopefully Watts can come back home for his last two years.
