The Womens' basketball board is a ghost town. The team is solid with a 10-2 record and ESPN has them as a 9-seed in their Bracketology earlier this week. Tough games at #1 UCLA on Sunday and at #4 USC on Wednesday :wow:.
They've played only two road games so far and lost them both. :xfingers:

Well, we looked good for a quarter and a half, leading 26-25 midway through q2. Then, outscored 66-28 the rest of the way.

Rebounding was 48-18 UCLA. Prince led Nebraska rebounders with 3.

Nebraska shot 33.3% overall and 3 of 19 from three point land.

Markowski had foul trouble and scored 3 points on 1 of 8 shooting.

Hargrove was a bright spot, leading Husker scorers with 12 points in 16 minutes.

This game highlighted how much we will miss Potts down low. Potts freed up Markowski a lot, Ucla was bigger and could do about what they wanted once the fouls hit.

I didn't see enough of Mendelson to get an idea of her ceiling. I think Bozan is a decent shooter, she is not 'fleet of foot' yet so gets exposed a lot underneath. Potts is a difference maker double digit points and boards any given night. Hard to replace those numbers with anyone that was or is on the roster right now.

Yes Potts is a huge loss.

I would rather have a Bozan, than a Mendelson.
 
10-15 minutes until tipoff against USC, the second top 5 California matchup in the last few days. I don't think we have a defensive-oriented player to slow down JuJu Watkins and don't expect a competitive game. Hope I'm proven wrong.

We were at the game. It wasn’t pretty. Looked a lot like the UCLA game. After mid 2nd quarter they just walked away from us.

I think we were within 3 or 4 sometime in the 3rd quarter; but, then our train ran off the rails. Our core is young and, if Markowski can be contained, there isn't anyone who poses much of a threat on either end of the floor right now. The young players are looking solid; but, still are young and making young players' mistakes. Any team with size will be a challenge. having said that, I could see us still being a middle of the pack Big Ten team...I won't base my overall opinion on how the team did on a difficult road trip against two top five teams.
 
im not much of a basketball fan. i usually come on closer to tourney time when were all desperate for football.
 
Alex has looked off this whole year, changed her shooting form at the foul line, not being strong underneath, etc.. Hope they can help her straighten everything out.
