My recollection is Scott took him, knowing there is a good chance he may not ever heal fully and get meaningful snaps. The reasoning is it helps keep our name at a key school in GA and if he does heal, he has tremendous upside. Now if he eventually goes on a medical scholarship he no longer counts against the 85. All the university is out is a measly $100k scholarship which is next to nothing for this athletic department which prints money. Hope the young man makes it back, but if not he can take advantage of a good situation and prepare for life.
