Who will start as qb this year?

Yup. DR will be the starter. If you want to have an identity on offense, DK is the backup. HH can help mentor and prepare QB1 and QB2. If HH is taking snaps in 2024, it better be a Varsity Blues Tweeter take the snaps situation.

I’d play DK in whatever first 4 games you can get him in. Should DR get injured, his redshirt should come off.

I’d be tickled silly if we had such a lead in those games where this could happen. I haven’t drank enough kool aide yet where I have any degree of confidence that we will have such a lead, but wouldn’t that be nice.

I’d have DK play in three of them saving one extra game in case we needed him in a one game stint thus preserving his redshirt.

It better be DR or NU is screwed. The Blackshirts will provide a good opponent for DR to get used to the speed of the game and believe his natural abilities will surprise us all ( favorably) Game 1. He's been groomed for this for years, and NU will reap the benefits of that next year.

Historical average would have put us at winning 2 games last year with our turnover rate.
So even as bad as out passing offense was last year we won 5. Add to that some serious upgrades in experience, talent, coaching, we don't turn the ball over as much, we should be fine.

This prompted me to check previous scores and wins by over one td. Last year, all 5 wins were by more than one td, the year before 2 three years ago all three wins with NW our only Big win that year.

We are loaded scholarship wise in the tight end position. I don’t see him getting any more reps there than he would at quarterback and we would need him still practicing at quarterback in case of injuries.
I think HH stays in the QB room this coming year and as long as NU is thin at the position and/or as long as we have a scheme package that fits his strengths. He’s a talented kid and can serve in a lot of roles on the team. I like the idea of HH taking the occasional series to create headaches for the other guys. But I’m not one of our co-OCs.

Satt, if I remember right, had his TE run out of wildcat at SC

I’d roll him out in a “Wildcat” package 2-3 times a game and use him as an H-back here and there. The top of my tight end room would look a little like this:

Base/Standard Tight Ends: Boerkircher, Fidone

Blocking Specialist: Lindenmeyer

Athlete/Big Play and Speed H-backs: Carter Nelson, Haarberg

And despite 4 pages of discussion about QB, what really matter is who's starts and how well they play in the O-LINE.
