Now add in what DR brings that very few ever have, very accurate deep throws. It sounds as if the Offensive braintrust will look to create the offense based on what Raiola (or another) does well. It will be authored with the user in mind. Would think this a fairly fun way to coach.
DR if hes healthy, theyre gonna be pushing thru plays and formations asap, it might be easier to just put a chip in his head.
He picked up quite a few plays for the exhibition game he played last week, and looked quite good. Im sure their gonna simplify the verbage as much as possible for him. I dont know how many plays he learned for last week, but i would assume about 30/35. Not bad for a weeks work.
I think were gonna be pleasantly suprised how polished he looks at game one. I just dont see Rhule asking him to do more than hes ready for. No reason to ruin his confidence. The first few games will be all about repitition and confidence building. Then add a few more plays every week
Bad part is, we really have no idea how we want it to look. The pass game we know will look way different, but so will the run game by default as you stated, but also because we were down to one rb.I think DR starts, and his early career success will depend a lot on if the RBs and offensive line can make the running game work where the running game doesn’t rely on the QB to make the runs.
We have what looks to be a solid RB room and we have a nice looking new IOL from Florida, a lot of returning lineman with many starts, and a young group with another year of development in the pipeline behind them. If we can make this work, our new and returning WR and TEs should be open and we have a QB that can hit him if we can give him a few seconds in the pocket unmolested. Again, a respectable and productive running game should make this possible.

A lot to learn about this team this year, and at qb and whats expected.
Here what I believe. We go bowling with an improved rb room, wr room, TE room and an improved HH.The mystery is part of the fun of being a Husker fan. Until we start winning I guess is the most fun we can have….
Is he going to catch his own passes?Jacory Barney... You heard it here first.
I loved/hated the way minny used it a few years back. Situational football at its best.Don’t forget HH is still 6’5” 230 and runs a 4.4.
I hope they are as wise as the most recent national champs and give him an honest power running package every game as a wildcat+ backup. When fresh, he’s a legit weapon in the run game. 5-7 plays wouldn’t hurt anything and force the opponent to scout for more.
I believe he is. From what I understand, he is that good. At least the press clipping I read made him sound that good. You know, the one where he gave an interview. He's on track to outdo Eric Crouch. It'll be fun to watch. Is he going to catch his own passes?
