I am still far too jaded after so many years of disappointment to risk drinking the Kool-Aid yet even after a 5-0 start, but hands down all recognition is due that our halftime adjustments were excellent and the team clearly no longer just collapses and phones it in when they are behind and adversity is piling up. These are light years leaps forward from where we were.
At this point, after watching how the team and the staff overcame a genuinely putrid first half, you can put the glass of Kool-Aid in front of me, and I will allow myself to smell it.
We are taking steps. Still so much to work on, but the fact that we're making halftime adjustments, and playing tougher in the 4Q is a big deal.I am still far too jaded after so many years of disappointment to risk drinking the Kool-Aid yet even after a 5-0 start, but hands down all recognition is due that our halftime adjustments were excellent and the team clearly no longer just collapses and phones it in when they are behind and adversity is piling up. First time we've been 5-0 since 2016 (as we know).
Just heard: first time we've been 5-0, and won all 5 by at least 17 points, ... since 2001

(I hope next week isn't our 2001 CU game)
Honestly, I rewatch the game. Without the penalties that were questionable in my opinion, the defense was not bad. I think that was proven with the second half. That was the longest first half I can remember.
I didn’t expect Maryland to have as much success offensively as they did in the first half. But, NU adjusted very well.
I still really like this team. I said before they weren’t spectacular but were solid, I don’t know anymore—Gilmer made some plays that looked spectacular to me.
Tough stretch coming up, NU probably drops one they shouldn’t and wins one they’re not expected to. Including bowl I expect at least nine wins on the year. Who knows though, right now it’s just fun to watch the team playing well.
