What Trev Alberts had to say about Frost and staff a year ago

Trev is speaking logically. You should be better with longevity and consistency. However, you need to show that improvement consistently. It should not just magically happen that there is huge improvement after 10 years when there hasn’t been any signs of it for the previous 10 years. That is why I see this year as a watershed year. Recruiting needs to see improvement. Trev is calling out the attention to detail that has been lacking. We need to see these things and get to at least 6 wins. If not, it is hard to sell consistency is getting us anywhere.

I think he gets another year barring a complete disaster.
Absolutely, Trev is a lot of things, stupid is not one of them. If he were to fire Scott after this year (assuming less than 5 or 6 wins), its not a good look. I don't care what lens it is put through.

It showed he was able to identify a nationally relevant coach, and bring a nationally relevant coach to a school that wasn't nationally relevant .
Similar to Rasmussen bringing Dana Altman to Creighton.
It's not football, but it's not nothing.
Tomato/Tomoto…JMPO it’s a very different landscape. Regardless, I appreciate your thoughts.

If that was a main driver in the hire (not saying it was), why wouldn't they get an outsider with no ties to Husker football? I personally don't think Frost's status changed either way, but Trev being an ex-player from that era may make him less willing to pull the trigger.
Because there’s more to being an athletic director than firing the head football coach?

Of course there is, but if the administration had any inkling about possibly having to get rid of Frost after this year, I don't know if Trev is the guy.
All of this is silly anyway, because Frost isn't getting fired this year.
Don’t shy away. Everything your saying is spot on. It’s natural amongst people (especially Nebraskans) to criticize the harsh truths we don’t want to believe. I would agree that it’s a moot point, because we all want Scott to be successful, and these next TWO years are key on whether he will have a job here (maybe even three - even if they are bad years).

1. Year one: Trev has the excuse of “gaining trust.”
2. Year two: He has the excuse of we are working together to build.
3. Year three: decision year.

Whether you agree with it or not, Scott’s contract got renewed the moment Trev Alberts was hired. He has a fresh two or three years to get things figured out. I don’t agree with it, because if it was any other Coach other than Scott, he would have been fired after last year. @N2FL you agree or disagree with the above?

OK, after all the "nice" talk, your true agenda came out. You think Frost should have had 2 1/2 seasons only and should have been fired. This isn't about Trev after all. It's about Frost. Carry on.
