Thank you. There are two many threads covering the same topic. I'm trying to keep up with transfer portal news and I'm finding myself checking several different threads to see if there are any developments.

I don't think that's true at all. We called a lot of QB runs out of necessity this year. But Rhule has repeatedly stated time and time again that he wants to run the football, play defense, and win the fourth quarter.IF the McCord thing pans out, I guess that puts to bed the type of offense Rhule really wants to run here.
Looking at different articles, it seems people are shocked that Kyle, the started at OSU, would enter the portal.... the reason is MONEY. I don't blame him, really, I mean, NIL and paying players is now allowed, so I don't blame him for using it to get some of that.

His desire all along was to keep his quarterbacks healthy and to look for a bell cow running back to carry the load. Although we don't have that running back in our stable, McCord gives us a quarterback who can make the throws when needed to keep drives alive, thus allowing us to continue to pound the ball between the tackles.
This makes zero sense. I'm sorry. When your first sentence is a fabrication of anything that I said, it makes it difficult to have a conversation with you.You don't? You bring in a passing QB only to run the ball more than pass? lol, yeah that makes a lot of sense.
I know what he said, but what he has said and his actions IF this is true would be two different things.
We shall see what happens, yeah, maybe Kyle is coming here strictly for the money and doesn't care if he can display his talents as a passer, probably doesn't care about making it to the next level, so running a run fist offense would matter to him.

Hold it.. lets review. This makes zero sense. I'm sorry. When your first sentence is a fabrication of anything that I said, it makes it difficult to have a conversation with you.
Do you understand that Sims was merely an attempted stopgap for what the staff knew was going to be a problem?
what part of that is a fabrication? Are you suggesting that McCord is not a passing QB? You claimed that Rhule has said time and time again he would like to run first (which he did say).. again what part of that is a fabrication? You bring in a passing QB only to run the ball more than pass? lol, yeah that makes a lot of sense.
The nuances surrounding what our offense was this year out of necessity, what a QB can do and what an OC can call with different players on the field just seem to be totally lost on a lot of folks.
The bolded is spot on and I'll expand a little. You put a guy back there that can make throws to open receivers and the opposing defense can't sneak the safeties up and ignore any potential receiver. I know this line wasn't a vintage Alex Gibbs line, but simple numbers made their job nearly impossible on half the snaps in any given game. Take that out of the equation or severely limit the stacked box and run blitzes and the offense looks completely different.
OkWhat I find funny is how some of you try so damn hard to deflect anything and everything that might not be rosy in your eyes.
You all are spouting off like you know exactly what Rhule is going to do, plus you just reduced one of the top QB's, a QB you paid serious money for, to a QB that could have been gotten for 1/3 of that price, IF what is being said is true.
McCord is being brought in for more than just being able to hit open receivers now and then.
geezus, you guys are incredible some times.

Yes a pro style power run offense with a QB that can pass when needed, not an air raid pass game. A team that controls the 4th quarter with that offense and a solid defense. They year we ran 63% of the time, I'm guessing next year closer to 50/50.IF the McCord thing pans out, I guess that puts to bed the type of offense Rhule really wants to run here.

Yeah - talk about pressure. If McCord were to come to Nebraska, there of course would be some pressure (from opposing defenses and an impatient fan base), but he wouldn’t face the kind of pressure that’s built in throughout the program at OSU to beat Michigan. That alone would probably have at least some sort of appeal…Yes a pro style power run offense with a QB that can pass when needed, not an air raid pass game. While money is a factor with McCord I think what started him towards the portal was Day basically throwing him under the bus and blaming his last drive interception as the reason they lost to Michigan once again. Day made the statement on Sunday and McCord hit the portal the next day. I'm guessing after the Michigan game it was getting chilly between Day and McCord and there were portal thoughts. Day's comment probably pushed him out the door.
You haven't been around long because over the last several years I may have been one of the harshest critics of this team. Hell, just ask Crab. I'm certainly not afraid to point out things that I'm concerned with. But when folks have severe issues understanding the nuance of calling plays that best match your personnel, it's comparable to talking to a brick wall. What I find funny is how some of you try so damn hard to deflect anything and everything that might not be rosy in your eyes.
